Beckiey Avenue, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas 75226 and transported to an atea hospital where he died from his injuries. During the investigation, Detective C. Waltan, #8479, learned that Suspect Matthew Gallagher shot the complainant multiple times causing his death, (On4uly 18, 2016, at approximately 11:42 A.M,, Patrol Officers responded toa shooting calla S, Beckley Avenue and E. Hobson Avenue, Upon arrival, afficers observed a black male victim Wying on the ground, in the alley unresponsive, Dallas Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Patrol officers met with severat witnesses at the scene who observed a white/latin male exiting a Chevy Impala that is believed to be elther brown, beige, or siver. The witnesses also informed officers that ater gunshots were heard, they observed a white/letn male wearing.a white hooded sweat shirt and black shorts running from the scene. Homicide and Crime Scene detectives were notified ofthe incident and acrved atthe scene. A witness that was afew blocks away {rom the crime scene informed detectives that a black female, diving a slvr Chevy impala, was accompanied by a white/atin male ‘iting the description ofthe suspect. The witness stated the white/latin male was looking fora block male walking witha tatin female Inthe area. The victim, who Isa black male, was known to be with his gliriend who is 2 Native American, Detectives were able to {gain access to surveliance videos at several locations. publicinformation bulletin was sent out to the public with images ofa possible suspect and vehicle, ‘A witness, who will remain anonymous, me farwarckand gave Detective Walton a nickname °MG", who owns a tobacco shop and barber shop on Ferguson Road. Matthew Gallagher W/E who Is also known as "MG" was later identified by another witness through a six person photographic line-up, 2s being the Indvidual locking forthe victim a few blocks away from the crime scene. ‘Matthew Gallagher contacted Detective Walton and refused to meet with Detective Walton regarding this murder offense. Mr Gallagher provided his contact information, which contained another cellular telephone number. Detective Walton also learned from another detective with the Dallas Police Department that Mr Gallagher had glven an additional cellular telephone numbe D> {BW which is sted In another investigation on Dallas Police case number 50039-2017. Detective Walton executed a search warrant forthe suspect's cellular telephone records and obtained phone records the showed Mr. Gallagher asthe subscriber. The cellar telephone records showed him to be inthe area during the time ofthe murder offense. It ‘was also shown that the anly time suspect Gallagher ad frequented the area was on the day the murder offense was committed, Detective Walton tater received addtional information cegarding the black female that was diving the suspect vehicle wile looking for the complainant inthe area. Detective Walton was informed that Atanse Manning B/S was dating Mr. Gallagher during the time of the murder offense,Service member 173708-2016 ‘COUNTY OF DALLAS 5 Detective Walton learned that Ms. Manning owned a 2008 silver Chevrolet impala that matched the physical description of the suspect vehicle shawn in the surveillance videos. The vehicle was repossessed a few weeks after the offense had been committed, ‘Detective Walton researched and found several dealerships that came in contact with this vehicle that was once registered to Aranae ‘Manning. Detective Walton continued the investigation and received additional Information regarding an additional witness that had Information about this murder offense. The witness, who will remain anonymous due to retaliation, was interviewed and stated suspect Azanae Manning admitted to being the driver of the siver Chevrolet Impala that drove suspect Gallagher many places looking, {or the complainant inthe area. ‘Detective Walton learned that suspect Manning was involved in an argument with the complainant and went to get suspect Gallagher. ‘Suspects Manning and Gallagher drove around in the area looking forthe complainant and found him walking in the 2700 block ofS. Beckley Avenue. Suspect Manning dropped suspect Gallagher off at one end ofthe alley and met him on the opposite end, after he shot the complainant, The suspects then fled the location, which was ll caught on survellance video, The witness stated suspect Gallagher admitted to his involvement in the murder affense by stating he shot the complainant. Based on the information received throughout this investigation, its believed that suspect Manning assisted suspect Gallagher in the ‘murder of complainant Lewis Cannon that occurred in the 2700 block ol S. Beckley Avenue, Dallas, Dallas, Texas 75224.
