FELLOWSHIP SUPPER will be served from 5-6:00. A donation of $3/person or $10/ family is suggested forthose who are able to help offset the cost. This year we have a separate menu for the adults and the kids andas always, dessert and salad bar. On the adult menu (9/15): Pork bbq, potato salad, & baked beans and on thekids menu: Hot dogs, baked beans and potato chips.CADETS/GEMS/KINGDOM KIDS for ages 4- 5
grade is from 6-7:30. JUNIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP begins at 6:15 with a Kick off Party! No cost. Wear clothes that can getmessy, a change of clothes, a towel and a rain poncho if you have one - this is going to be messy! ADULT BIBLE STUDY on the Minor prophets will be offered from 6-7:00. The CHANCEL CHOIR begins rehearsals this week, Wednesday, September 15 at 6:30 P.M. in the ChoirRoom downstairs. Rehearsals last just one hour. Anyone high school age and up is welcome to come sing with us. We always love to welcome new members, and we always have a good time. Don’t hide your singing talent. CHILDREN:Parents, To assist us in serving you and your child’s best interest and safety during the times that you haveentrusted them to our children’s ministry leaders we ask that each week a parent or designated adult register/sign in your child and pick up him/her at the end of class. There will be a check in sheet at the entry point of each classroom. YOUTH:11:00-12:00. 6th – 8th grade in Room L23. 9th – 12th grade in Room L22 ADULT:Coffee and Current Events: Grab a cup of coffee and join facilitator, Bruce Eckert, in the library every Sunday for an informal discussion of current events and their relationship to our life and faith.“A Fresh Look at the Old Testament, Where Does the Bible Begin? A Second Look atSinai” with Dr. Rev. Wayne Brouwer in Room L6. We all think the Bible begins with Genesis,but there are reasons to think about Exodus as the first book of the Bible. Come to this classfor an intriguing look at what happened to the Israelites at Mount Sinai, and how this affects themanner in which we read the Bible yet today. Here is religion at its most political! Dr. Brouweris an ordained pastor and a teacher at Hope and WTS.“Reformed & Missional” in Room L11. This DVD presentation and discussion, features the Rev. Dr. RichardMouw. He was keynote speaker at General Synod 2008 addressing the topic of what it means for the RCA tobe reformed and missional, and so what? Dr. Mouw told some fascinating stories and connected them totheological and practical applications of this topic. This class should be helpful to our discussion here at FirstChurch as we begin another phase of looking at what is next for us.
