Music Video Idea Pitch Reflection

Having received feedback from the class about my music video idea pitch, it is clear that
everyone understood what my music video will be about and how I plan to make it work. I
realised that I showed a link between the other ancillary products (DVD cover and
magazine) and my music video. In my opinion I think that what I stated being that the colour
scheme and having the people featuring in the music video to be on the covers is a good link
to show a relationship between the products. However, from the feedback I know I need to
make sure that there is a link between the characters, which could be shown through the
way they dress, positions and colours.
When explaining the target audience I think that I went in detail with a precise
thought of who I am aiming for this video for. However looking at some of the feedback, i
understand why they said that i could use a slightly older audience from 18-25. I think i
should change my target audience to this as it will fit into their lifestyle more than 16 year
olds when thinking about marriage etc.
Having played the song, everyone seemed to like the song and thought that it fits
well with the idea i came up with. Regarding the genre on style and form, i showed them
images of other artists that i would like to use. For example i used an image of Ne-Yo on the
way he dresses as i would like my male character to dress in his style and for one of the
location i showed an image of ‘Tinie tempah – written in the stars (feat. Eric turner)’ where
he is on the roof of a building and you see big buildings behind, i would like to have this in
my video.
