The GPC (Gloucestershire Printmaking Co-operative) was founded in 2005. It is the only printmaking facility of its kind in Gloucestershire and its key aim is to promote Fine Art Printmaking and to encourage artists engaged in this medium.

COURSE 8 Sat/Sun 15th/16th Jan INTRODUCTION TO SCREENPRINTING
For beginners & experienced printmakers. Try various stencil techniques from simple paper stencils + painted filler images to photo stencil techniques. Using 2 or 3 colours you will master the basics of registration + paper and ink management. Learn to use the equipment within the GPC studios and how to get the best results. Bring reference for creating your images.

CARBORUNDUM, COUAGRAPH& COLOUR TRICIA TORRINGTON
Come and brighten up a dreary winter with explosive colour printing. Using blocks of deep-hued carborundum on flat plates, with additional collagraph inserts, this course will help you create stunning textural prints. Tricia will show you methods of inking to achieve depths of velvety colour, using viscosity to allow overlays of colour on textured mllagraphs.
COURSE 10 Sat/Sun 12th/13th Feb PHOTOLITH OG RAPHY
A common c.ommercial process it is rarely used in fine art - a shame as it can be used in many exdting ways. Multiple layered images can be produced from drawings, photographs, etc. or drawn straight onto the plate. A cheap process it lends itself to experimentation. Paul has developed it to suit British materials and ways of working. Suitable for experienced printmakers or beginners.

GUM ARABIC TRANSFER: 4 COLOUR SEPARATION
This weekend will show you how to split a full-colour image into component colour layers. Each layer is then printed using Justin's Gum Arabictransfertechnique. You will take homean editioned, fu II colour pri nt with the tonal qualities of a lithograph. For printmakers with experience, but Justin can also take beginners through a simpler tra nsfer process during th is cou rse.

COMBINING LlNOPRINT AND ETCHING Masterclass Lino and etching are two very different mediums. Richard will demonstrate how he cuts lino, producing crisp, dean shapes and line. Using soft and hard ground, sugar lift and open bite a second plate is prepared. These two processes work together with colour overprinting. Students can use the most appropriate methods for individual design ideas, to produce rich and varied textures.

BOOKBINDING IN LEATHER SUE CROSSLEY
First you'll make a leather-bound book using the limp vellum style. Then build on these skills to produce a case-bound album suitable for tipping in photos, drawing.s, or prints. We will examine different papers and leathers. Sue trained as a bookbinder and paper conservator, Book materials must be paid for in addition. You may book for half the course (2 days).

SUE DRENNEN: STONE LITHOGRAPHY - DAY to be confirmed - choose from an afternoon or evening class This class offers the opportunity to learn the magical 200 year-old art of stone lithography, taking you through from stone preparation, drawing methods and materials, to lithographic processing and printing techniques. If you have experience, it offers the chance to continue to print in a well equipped studio.
CHRISTINE FELCE: PHOTO GRAVURE EVENING OR DAY COURSES· On a Monday or Thursday evening for a block of 5 sessions each term, 1 st block starting October 4th (7pm to 9.30pm) for a maximum of 6 people. Over 5 sessions learn how to make a photo-etching - work with a treasured photo, or experiment with using photographic images. You will learn how to expose, develop and print a plate, and Christine will guide you to experiment
with different ways of inking and presentation. Photo polymer plates will be provided by the tutor and need
