Hinsdale Public Library Study Room Policy

Study Room Purpose


Hinsdale Public Library provides study rooms to enable individuals or
small groups to work or study privately during regular library hours. This
policy applies to all rooms designated as study rooms by the Executive Director.

Study Room Use


Use of the study rooms located in the Youth and Young Adult Services
Department is intended for use by those of high school age and younger and any
accompanying adult(s). Adults unaccompanied by youth should use the study
rooms located on the main floor of the library.
Use of the study rooms located on the main floor of the library is intended
for those of high school age and above. Those younger than high school age
should use the study rooms in Youth and Young Adult Services.

Rules of Behavior
Those using study rooms must comply with all rules of behavior as set forth in
the Library Board’s statement of Policies Governing Behavior in the Library.

Commercial Use
Study rooms are not intended for commercial use.

Policy Review and Revision


This document will be reviewed by the Board at least biennially.
