SHADOWS OF THE PAST

I work so hard as a congressman

To build a reputation that will last
With a wife and children
The last thing I need, is shadows from my past

So hard I try, to mend my ways

To bury the things of the past that did not conform
No longer would I hear, hurtful things she would say
And soon everything would return to the norm

But that did not last, ahead the looming storm

They notified me they found a body
Of my former wife
Suddenly, to all, my reputation turn shoddy

I've changed to the better, I'm not the same

None the less I killed my wife, buried her, in dirt=, rock and sand
But that can't stand in the way of what I can achieve
After all I'm a United States Congressman
