Ministry for the Sick and Homebound
We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish
office.
SVDP Society
Who are we? - The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam in Paris, is
dedicated to the service of those in need throughout
the world. St. Helen's Council presently has six ac-
tive members that volunteer their time.
What do we do? - We help our needy neighbours
that live within the boundaries of St. Helen. All calls
are screened and a home visit is arranged with two
members attending.
How are we supported? - The poor box in the ves-
tibule of the church is our main means of support.
How can you donate? - A cheque made out to St.
Helen St. Vincent de Paul can be dropped in the
poor box or the Sunday collection. There are also
St. Vincent de Paul envelopes available for cash do-

We continue to collect Canadian Tire money to pur-
chase raffle prizes for fundraising events. It can be
brought to the office or in the collection basket.
Grounds Maintenance
St Helen's Lawn Care Teams are in
need of anyone that would have a
riding lawnmower, push mower and
or a trimmer that can be transport-
ed to and from the church along with a spare few
hours every 4-5 weeks to help with the Lawn Mainte-
nance around the St. Helen's church property. The
season runs from about April to the end of Septem-
ber to early October. The pay is poor but the fun is
unlimited. Anyone interested in this ministry please
contact Craig Luey. (Contact information is on the
front of the Church Bulletin)

There were no limos
waiting for Pope Francis
during his U.S. visit in
2015. Instead, the pope
chose to ride in a humble,
black Fiat. Although he
seemed a bit crowded,
crammed into the back
seat of the car, his humility
touched the crowds who cheered his arrival.
In fulfillment of Zechariah’s prophecy, Jesus en-
tered Jerusalem riding on a borrowed colt. People
hailed him as the king who comes in the name of the
Lord. Although many hoped he would overthrow the
Roman occupation, Jesus did not come as a king
riding a mighty war horse. Instead, he sat on a small
colt. The welcoming throngs paved the way with
their cloaks and palms and filled the air with their

Exploring Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation

This faith formation series is being held on four con-
secutive Monday evenings, beginning April 9, 2018,
7-9pm., at the Catholic Centre, 3400 Merrittville

Good Friday Pontifical Collection - March 30
Our parish, once a year on Good Friday, is called to
support Christians in the Holy Land. They depend on
the collection for their lives. As a collection request-
ed by Pope Francis, it helps to maintain not only the
holy places and provide for the formation of future
priests above all, but also the pastoral, welfare, edu-
cational, and social works that the Church carries
out to the benefit of our Christian brothers and sis-
ters and the local population. A donation in response
to the Pope's annual appeal is a direct way of chang-
ing the lives of those in that region caught in the grip
of war, violence, and instability. Let us give gener-
ously and show solidarity by responding to the
needs of the Church in the land of Jesus!
