Editor’s Notes
It’s (already) been a year since Songwriter’s Monthly has beenback in (digital) magazine form! Time to let me know how wedid! But first, let me tell you what we tried to do . . .Over this past year, Songwriter’s Monthly has tried to presentyou with a wide range of creative individuals from all genres andaspects of the music industry. Some of these people areunknown and some are quite well-known. The idea is that younever know who will appear in these pages . . . but if they doappear, we think there is something interesting, inspiring, educational, enlightening or just plain entertaining about whothey are and what they do. Admittedly, we are not as interestedin where these folks shop, what they carry in their purse/wallet,who they are dating, etc. as we are in trying to locate that innerspark that fuels what they do, the motivation that gives themdrive and purpose in their creative endeavors. We want to offerinterviews and reviews that have depth and get you to the coreof the artist and his or her work. We try hard to deliver storieswith a unique, individual focus that you simply cannot get in anyother publication. Since we cover such a wide variety of artistsand individuals, I don’t expect you to love everything we do . . .but I do hope that there is something, some special moment ineach and every issue when you stop and think, “Wow! I’m soglad I read this!” Now, it’s your turn. How did we do? Did we cover the types of artists you’re interested in? Did we ask the kinds of questionsyou want answers to? Should we include more “How To” articles? Would you like free music downloads? Do you wantmore contests? More concert listings? More reviews? Moreinterviews? More links to purchase music and gear? More pages?Less pages? Would you like to submit questions for artists? Anyideas/comments, send ‘em in! Looking forward to your input! Thanks for reading!Allen (a1foster@aol.com)
