Dear Law Enforcement Colleague,
 The Ohio Peace Ofcer Training Academy (OPOTA) leadership and staff continually work to improve and expand course offeringsto benet peace ofcers. OPOTAs top priority is making sure local law enforcement nd both our instruction and our customerservice rst-rate. The academy offers more than 500 advanced law enforcement courses annually. In addition, a wide array of regional trainings areprovided free of charge, and dozens of courses are available online. In all, enrollment in OPOTA offerings topped more than35,000 in 2010. The academy’s reputation extends beyond Ohio’s borders, and OPOTA frequently attracts students from other states and evenother countries. Students have traveled from Spain, Iraq, Italy, Canada, Colorado, California, Texas, Georgia, and elsewhere toattend courses. Today, we offer courses at our main campus in London and a nearby Tactical Training Center as well as at a satellite campus inRicheld. Plans also are under way to signicantly increase the number of regional trainings OPOTA offers free of charge acrossthe state. And, the academy provides dozens of courses online through the eOPOTA section of our Ohio Law EnforcementGateway.
