IWAssalamu alaikum Wr. Wb.
Alhamdulillah, gratefully PPU has completed some of
its activities in 2008, as part of the continuous effort in
resolving humanity problems in the field of education,
economy, health, humanity disaster, and in some
environmental issues. We believe that our work still
requires a lot of effort in synergizing our programs with
public sector, private sector, and with other humanitarian
organization, or with the community! third sector. With
such synergy we can optimize our role in resolving the
problems of this nation.
The year of 2008 was an important milestone for PKPU in
improving its profesionalism and in trying to establish
global cooperation with international NGOs, the
organizations at the United Nations, or with international
community, in which on 22 July 2008 PKPU was
registered in the UN oganisation that deals with economy
and social issues as an NGO in Special Consultative
Status with the Economic and Social Council of the
United Nations. This means that PKPU has had two keys,
with the first one was as an effort to optimize the huge
potential of zakat in Indonesian community PKPU was
appointed as one of National Zakah Collectors by
Indonesian Religion Ministry through its decree No. 441
on 8 October 2001; and the second one was its
registration in the United Nations that allows more global
cooperation
We have the faith that Indonesia as it has rich natural
resources and with quite a population can gradually
resolved all the problems in proverty, lack of education,
health and other problems with the help and great support
from all of us. May Allah SWT bestows strength to us so
that PKPU and its partners are blessed with ease and
grace of Allah in providing the contribution to resolve the
problems a Amiin.

The National The National
‘Zakah Management Siow See, Humanitarian
Institution Organizationt started in mid 1997 when nations across the
southeast asian region experienced their worst
regional economic crisis. Indonesia was worst hit by
the phenomenon. The crisis quickly affected many sectors
causing decline in every production fields. Responding to
the matter at hand a number of the nation’s youth with
strong will congregate and contributed their mind and
energy through social acts across the nation via a social
entity. On 10 December 1999 an NGO called Pos Keadilan
Peduli Ummat was first established as 2 nonprofit
organization striving and assisting the desperate situation
of the Indonesian people.
On 8 October 2001, a Religious Ministry Decree No. 441
legalize PKPU’s existence as a National Zakah Organizer.
With this, PKPU is authorized ta manage funds such as
zakah and infaq anywhere within indonesia. This quickly
strengthen the people's trust than ever before and
stresses the pure function of the organization as an
institution which empowers the community potentials to
comeout of poverty.
PKPU’s performance as a humanitarian agency was clearly
marked through its active participation side by side with
international NGOs from alll over the world interventing in
disaster relief and development program in major disaster
events including the great earthquake and tsunami in
Aceh, Yogyakarta, Pakistan, and more. As an active
organisation in responding to humanitarian issues
therefore needs to standardize our work and develop our
programs has driven us to set forth and gofurther towards
aninternational setting. On 21 July 2008, PKPUis accepted
as an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the
Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, which
demands high accountable humanitarian performance
fromits members.

‘The National Zakah Management
InstitutiEmpowering the community to handle disaster
risksis an effort to create self-reliant community
in dealing with disaster in disaster-risk area. The
community is directly involved and responsible
for the program from planning to execution
Active participation is expected to reduce the
susceptibility and to strengthen the
community's capacity in independently dealing
with disaster risks. This also decreases the
dependency towards external parties. PKPU
presents this program in order to transfer the
promptness to deal with disaster from the
rescue team to the community of the disaster-
risk area. This should allow quick-responses and
minimize the impact of the disaster.Health Progra
The integrated health service Program focuses on the health promotion, preventive
measures, clinical treatment, rehabilitative, and Medical emergency services.
