General Construction Features
—The liquid insulated, secondary type substation transformeris designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with thelatest ANSI Standards.—Impedance, sound level and voltage connections are inaccordance with NEMA Standards.—The core is constructed with high-grade gain oriented siliconesteel laminations to reduce size, sound and losses.—The coils are rectangular construction utilizing extra strong, electrical grade, adhesive coated paper between turns.—The core and coil assembly is installed in a sealed tank, immersed in insulated liquid to prevent dirt, moisture andcorrosive elements from deteriorating the electrical andmechanical integrity of the transformer. The transformershave four approximately 2.5 percent rated kVA taps. Twoabove and two below rated primary voltage. These taps areavailable by means of an externally operated manual tapchanger for operation only when transformer is de-energized,with provisions for padlocking the tap changer.
