³It is an awesome thing that I will do with you.´ (Ex.

He said ³Behold I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as havenot been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among whom you are shallsee the work of the Lord. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.´ (Exo. 34:10)God is making the same agreement, as He did with Moses with each one of us to-day.God¶s role is focused in this promise. Yes, ³God is not a man that He should lie nor a son of man that should change His mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does He promise and notfulfill? (Nu. 23:19)He will definitely do what He says. So God¶s role in this promise will certainly bedone. What is our role? That is the question which we have to meditate. When we play our role correctly, then this promise will come to pass. That is why Paul has said: To have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God´. (11 Cori. 7:1)But if we ask whether God fulfilled this promise in Moses life, the answer will beµNo¶. Because when we read Deut. 4:23 to 28 we understand that Moses, though he wasstrong at 129 years, died without crossing Jordon, (exactly as what God has said) why so?³Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, ³Because you did not believe Me tohallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assemblyinto the land which I have given them´. (Num. 20:12) Here we see that not believing tohollow His name was the main reason. Believing is listening to His word and doingaccordingly. Lord spoke to Moses, ³Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather thecongregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes and it will yield water´ (Num.20:8) Moses and Aaron gathered the people and he said to them, ³Hear now, you rebels.Must we bring water for you out of this rock?´ Then he struck twice the rock with rod andwater came out and the people drank. Why Moses spoke like this? Psalm 106:33 says ³hespoke rashly because they rebelled against his spirit´. Though Moses has seen all miraclesdone by God he disobeyed God by speaking rashly. That is why he died without seeing theawesome thing of the Lord (Deut. 34:5, 7)Hence, when we listen to His words carefully and do accordingly our great Lord willdo awesome things in our life. We must remove all the dirt and dust from our life. Let usguard our words too because, ³they will give account of it in the day of judgment.´ (Mt.12:36) We should not make others responsible for our rashness. What God then do in your life will be fresh and not ever seen before? ³For since the beginning of the world, men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seenany God besides you who acts for the one who waits for Him (Isaiah 64:4).
