In chapter fifteen~Devoured by Carrion~during my episode of "Sleep Paralysis," I woke up from one dream into a second dream; I thought I was awake, but wasn't. In this illustration I tried to adequately portray what I saw as I looked down my torso, paralyzed, frozen in place, unable to make a sound or call for help. A baker's dozen black birds of all different kinds; from Turkey Vultures, Ravens and Crows, to all kinds of black birds. Asian cultures use the black sparrow (standing at the foot of my hospital bed) as the symbol of an avitar that helps transport us on our journey from this world into the next--Death! It is a sight I wish I could forget; unfortunately it has been burned into my memory banks. Yikes!
