It’s never too early to think about sports’most famousindividual award.
The Heisman. It’s the gateway to a legacy. Just ask MarkIngram, last year’s Heisman winner
-
the first everfrom the University of Alabama. Asthe season rollsalong, the hypefor theHeisman will grow to a fever pitch, but oftentimes, the Heisman has been won in with a key Septemberperformance. So, when twostars meet in September in a  game that has not only Heismanimplications but one thatcould swing the SEC andnational title race, well, youpay attention. InFayetteville, AR on Saturday,Hogs QB Ryan “Big Tex”Mallett and Crimson TideRB Mark Ingram face off ina matchup that will have a national television audience. Alabama v. Arkansas is butone of a handful of intriguing  games on the weekend, but itovershadows every othermatchup, given all that is on theline when these two teams meet. The NFL slate is highlighted by a battle of I

When the Cowboys have the ball
...

The Cowboys have a serious problem with their offensivephilosophy. Nobody is going to argue that they have talent at the skill positions, but right now they arejust a collection of talented players with no cohesive gameplan. Will they finally put it together here? The Texans haven’t been able to stop the passing game yet, but I’m not sure that it is in
 Jason Garrett
’s bestinterest to abandon the run yet again. The Cowboys will test the Texans run defense early to see where
Bernard Pollard
lines up and if he stays near theline of scrimmage,
Tony Romo
will start testing the Texans secondary down the field.
Doug Free
 has issues with bull
-
rushers which could be a big problem against
Mario Williams
.
When the Texans have the ball
...
Over thelast two weeks, the Texans have been involved withextremes. They have shown an ability tocompletely and totally rely on both the running andpassing games respectively and they find themselvesat 2
-
0. This game figures to land in the middle withthe Texans attempting to establish the running  game early on so that they can protect left tackle
Rashad Bulter
from the pass rushing of
DeMarcus Ware
. Butler isn’t nearly the player that
Duane Brown
is so the Texans will have to scheme accordingly.
Owen Daniels
doesn’t appear to be physically ready to have a big impact on games so the Texans mightutilize more 3 WR sets to spread the Cowboys 3
-
4 out and take advantage of mismatches.
Prediction
:

We will know exactly which direction this game is going by the end of the first quarter. Neither team will be flat, but theCowboys have to find out if they can get into an offensive rhythm whilethe Texans have to see if Butler can play. Texans passing game is toomuch for Cowboy safeties.
Last Meeting: Dallas - 34 vs. Houston - 6 (10/15/2006)
Fantasy Scoop

Miles Austin
,
Andre Johnson
,
MattSchaub
,
Tony Romo
and
Arian Foster
areobvious starters.
 Jason Witten
gets the nodas well, but
Owen Daniels
doesn’t. I wouldn’t start the Cowboys defense this weekif you have a backup option ready and I’m notsure what to expect from any Dallas running back.

When the Jets have the ball
...
The Jets have faced a couple of heavy hitters in Baltimore and NeEngland, but after a lackluster first game, the Jets really came on strong last weekend against the Patriots.
Mark Sanchez
looked rock solid and really did a great job of finding both
Braylon Edwards
and
Dustin Keller
. The Dolphins will be the third straight 3
-
4 team that the Jets will have played, but they  will be less tricky with their blitz packages preferring to play it a little straighter.
Shonn Greene
and
LaDainian Tomlinson
will find the going tough again with
Randy Starks
and the Dolphins defensefocusing their attention on the running game. TheDolphins secondary is better than last year so this will be a very good matchup.
When the Dolphins have the ball
...
If there isone thing that I’m sure of it is that
Ronnie Brown
is one of the most effective backs in the league
 –
when healthy. Right now, Brown and
Ricky  Williams
are both healthy, and in many ways, theDolphins offense mirrors what the Jets have.
ChadHenne
plays the role of Sanchez in this one and thekey for the Dolphins will be not only protecting him against the Jets various blitz schemes, but alsoprotecting him by running the ball with at least moderate success. With
Darrelle Revis
out,
AntonioCromartie
and
Kyle Wilson
will have to make sure that
Brandon Marshall
doesn’t hit the Jets for thebig play. If Henne doesn’t take care of the ball, the Dolphins won’t win.
Prediction
:

Normally I would say that not having Revis would be a huge issue for the Jets, but Wilson has snaps under his belt and I thinkthat he and Cromartie can do a good enough job against Henne and thepassing attack. The Jets are the tougher of the two teams which is thedifference.
Fantasy Scoop

Brandon Marshall
gets the start here, but I would pass on
Ricky Williams
and only give
Ronnie Brown
a RB3 or flex rating againstthe Jets physical run defense.
Dustin Keller
deserves a start and I would take a shot with
Shonn Greene
to hit paydirt in this one.
