The results of the archaeological field evaluation demonstrated that significant archaeological remains, including stone deposits and part of the Roman road linking Caerleon and Usk, were located on the site.

The Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust was commissioned by the Celtic Manor Resort to undertake an archaeological field evaluation to the northeast of Bulmore, close to an area with extensive Roman remains including cemeteries and a major
road, in order to inform determination of planning consent for construction of a coach park.
