Welcome to the Faculty of Energy Systems and NuclearScience (FESNS) at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT)!Energy systems and nuclear science is a truly exciting areaof study, presenting significant employment opportunities ina variety of fields for engineers and scientists possessingknowledge of the safe, efficient generation and use of energy, including fossil, nuclear, wind and solar technology.In addition, UOIT’s location is particularly advantageousto this area of study as the surrounding Durham Regionfeatures 10 operating nuclear generating units and a varietyof companies in the energy business.All of this means UOIT is the ideal choice if you have aninterest in energy and a passion for pursuing a rewardingand challenging career.You can choose from five degree programs: Bachelor of Engineering in Nuclear Engineering, Bachelor of Engineeringin Energy Systems Engineering, Bachelor of Science inHealth Physics and Radiation Science and Bachelor of Applied Science in Nuclear Power, as well as the five-yearBachelor of Engineering Management degree. We alsooffer Master’s and PhD degree programs in NuclearEngineering in the fields of Nuclear Power and RadiologicalHealth Physics. In May 2011, a new bridge program foreligible college students into the Bachelor of AppliedScience in Nuclear Power degree will be available, and inthe near future the faculty will offer a Master of BusinessAdministration (MBA) option.During your studies, you will conduct innovative research,analyze data and apply theoretical knowledge to real-lifesituations. All of this will prepare you to take your positionas one of our country’s next-generation professionals.
