Philippine Consulate General in Chicago

Philippine CPAs(Certified Public Accountants) of Greater Chicago
and
Walgreens
are pleased toannounce that in celebration of 
“Filipino American History Month” 
and the 15
th
 
“Chicago Artists Month” 
in October this year, an art exhibit by seven FilipinoAmerican artists -
“The Filipino as an Artist in Chicago” 
- will be held at 30 N.Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60602. The art exhibit kicks-off on October 1and runs the entire month.The participating Filipino American artists are Susan Alforque Silvano,Eulalio Bueno, Fabie de Silva, Cesar Conde, Jun-Jun Sta. Ana, Willi Buhay, andWivinne Eve Red Buhay
(“ERBU”).
 
Susan
 
is a certified public accountant and visual artist, and loves to paintin vibrant and earthy colors with textures and patterns.
Bueno
is a well-knownFilipino American visual artist and portraitist of internationally known personalitiessuch as Pope Paul VI, Senator Dianne Feinstein and other noted persons inChicago and Manila, Philippines.
Fabie
believes that specifically, painting withinthe genres and imbued sentimentalism of the Expressionists and the AbstractExpressionists enables one to escape the firm grip of cultural dilemma of being asecond-generation Filipino American.
Cesar 
studied with the French master of the “Technique Mixte” with Maestro Patrick Betaudier in Chicago and at hisatelier in Monflanquin, France.
Jun Jun
has conducted one-person exhibitionsand joined selected group exhibitions in Chicago and Manila.
Willi 
is the former Artistic Director for Design of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Folk ArtsTheater in Manila, Philippines.
Wivinne Eve
or 
“ERBU 
’s” artworks are eclectic,simple still life or self-portraits which have meaning in life and respect differentaspects in life.Most of the artists’ artwork will be displayed at the
Kalayaan
 (Independence)
Hall

Floor) of the Consulate, while selected artworks of thesame artists will be showcased at the
Walgreens drugstore
(ground floor at thecorner of Washington and Michigan).
