Rev. M. G. McLuhan Obituary

Dr. Meryvn Graham McLuhan, father of First Lady Darlia Conn and an
ordained bishop in the Church of God, passed away at the age of 88 on
February 21, 2007.
McLuhan served as associate pastor of 14,000 member Mount Paran
Church in Atlanta, Georgia for two decades. He was also president of
Northwest Bible College in North Dakota and International Bible College in
Western Canada. In South Africa he presided as president over Berea Bible
Seminary.
Emphasizing Biblical ethics in ministry, and preaching psychological
counseling, McLuhan taught in Singapore, Holland, Scotland, Belgium, South
Korea and Siberia in addition to the United States.
Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, Dr. McLuhan moved to Arizona, where
he lived for 11 years. He authored two major books: Marriage and Divorce:
God’s Call, God’s Compassion and A Higher Road to Ministry.
McLuhan is survived by E. Merle, his wife; Conn, his daughter; sons
Dwayne and Derryck McLuhan; brother John McLuhan; and seven
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Northridge
Community Church in Cave Creek, AZ. The family has asked that those who
wish to make an expression contribute to the M. G. McLuhan Memorial Fund
that will be created in his honor.
McLuhan’s life and ministry will be celebrated as a service at the Mount
Paran Central Church of God on Friday, May 11, 6:00 p.m.
