2 Runner Profile
3 Upcoming Events
Check out the fabulous Running and Racing Report. Our runners were very active this past
month with lots of races, PRs and awards. Our Young Runners and First 5K participants also
completed their goal race at the Italian Fest 5K! Details are on page 4.
We will be holding a Fall Meeting and New Member Night on Tuesday, October 12th at 6:30 p.m.
We will be discussing future club plans for the rest of 2010 and into 2011. PowerBar samples
will be available to all who attend the meeting. We have lots of new members so this will be a
great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other a little better. Hope you can make it.
We need a few more volunteers to fully staff the water stop at the Fred Winters Memorial 5K /
10K on Saturday, October 9th. If you are available to help, please talk with Miriam or Cheri so
we can provide you with additional details regarding where and when to meet that morning. If
you haven’t worked a water stop previously, it is lots of fun and this is a very worthy cause.
Something “strange” you always need on a run? When I am running a competitive race, I carry my
lucky coin. I need all the luck I can get.
When I can't run, I... Complain. When I can run I complain. When I don’t run I get real hyper, when I run I complain that
everyone runs by me.
Music or no Music? If yes, favorite music: I have to have music when I run, darude...sandstorm, eifel 5...blue song &
naturally Bob Dylan is my music idol.
Last/current injury: Plantar fasciitis and a heel spur. Doctors in 1995 said I would never run again!!!
PR you're most proud of: an article from the YMCA about me being a spin class instructor.
A Goal further ahead you'd like to get to someday: Run any length of run in a real time.
Why do you run? I owned my own business & have a tremendous amount of pressure. Two minutes into any run, I for-
get that pressure and “I’m running on empty.” While I am running one of my good runs, I feel I can conquer anything.
No alibis work. It is just you and the road!
