This asymmetrical, poncho style wrap was inspired by a similar sweater found at
Anthropologie. It is perfect for those autumn days when there is a little chill in the air.
Materials:
Tapestry needle
12 - 1 ¼ inch buttons
3 X 3 Rib
Row 1: K3, P3
Repeat this row until piece measures 46” long. Loosely BO in pattern.
Important: Because of the ribbing, the piece will need to be blocked before you start
the next step. Block piece so that it measures 15” wide by 46” long.
15”
46”
Diagram 1
Fold down sides according to the dotted lines in diagram 1. Using tapestry needle and
matching yarn, sew together the right bottom edge to the bottom left inside edge
according to diagram 2.
Diagram 2
Evenly attach six of the buttons to the sewn edge. (Buttons are decorative and do not
function.)
Collar
Pick up and knit 120 stitches spaced evenly along the inside collar edge starting at the
center right front (red star in diagram2) and continue around to the left center front.
Begin 3 X 3 rib and K3, P3 each row until collar measures 10 inches. Bind off loosely in
pattern.
The inside of the collar will fold down and become the outside/rightside of the collar.
Sew from the neck edge down about 6 ½ inches (depending on where you place your
buttons), and leave the last 3 ½ inches open. Attach last six buttons evenly, and you
are done.
Enjoy!
