munimaanatosmi

Shuka Deva Maharaaj, the narrator: Let me offer my respectful obeisance’s unto that great
sage [ Śukadeva ] who can enter the hearts of all. When
he went away to take up the renounced order of life [
sannyāsa
], leaving home without undergoing reformation by the sacred thread or the ceremonies
observed by the higher castes, his father, Vyāsadeva, fearing separation from him, cried out, "O
my son!" Indeed, only the trees, which were absorbed in the same feelings of separation,
echoed in response to the begrieved father.

The demigods prayed: O Lord, You never deviate from Your vow, which is always perfect
because whatever You decide is perfectly correct and cannot be stopped by anyone. Being
present in the three phases of cosmic manifestation — creation, maintenance and annihilation
— You are the Supreme Truth. Indeed, unless one is completely truthful, one cannot achieve
Your favor, which therefore cannot be achieved by hypocrites. You are the active principle, the

You are the beginning of all truth. Therefore, offering our obeisances, we surrender unto You.
Kindly give us protection.

Lord Rāmacandra 's spotless name and fame, which vanquish all sinful reactions, are
celebrated in all directions, like the ornamental cloth of the victorious elephant that conquers all
directions. Great saintly persons like Mārkaṇḍeya Ṛṣi still glorify His
characteristics in the assemblies of great emperors like
Mahārāja
Yudhiṣṭhira
. Similarly, all the saintly kings and all the demigods, including Lord
Śiva
and Lord
Brahmā
, worship the Lord by bowing down with their helmets. Let me offer my obeisances unto His
lotus feet.

In the revealed scriptures, the ultimate object of knowledge is Śrī Kṛṣṇa , the Personality of
Godhead. The purpose of performing sacrifice is to please Him.
Yoga
is for realizing Him. All fruitive activities are ultimately rewarded by Him only. He is supreme
knowledge, and all severe austerities are performed to know Him. Religion [
dharma
] is rendering loving service unto Him. He is the supreme goal of life.
