The Beast and the False Prophet
The Revival of Radical Islam
Chapter 3 1
Who leads the Composite Beast Empire?
As we have seen so far, the premise of this study is that the composite 8
Beast Empire which rises upalready complete with 7 former head/Empires and 10 crowned horn/Nations; is believed to be aresurge
nt Islamic Empire which comes out of the “wounded 7
head” of the Ottoman Empire which
had been healed. Rev. 13:3
“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadlywound was healed; and all the world wondered after the beast.”
However, it is clear from the scriptures that this last manifestation of Empire is not an exact repeat of aformer one, but arises in a fresh configuration out of the 7 former Empires, (all of which existed whollyor in part in the Fertile Crescent, in Asia); displaying characteristics relating to 3 Empires in particularthat were first identified by Daniel as the Babylonian, Media/Persian and Macedon/Grecian Empires, and seen by John as lion/bear/leopard beasts.
History shows that the Republic of Turkey, founded in 1923, is the sole remnant of the Islamic OttomanEmpire which fell at the end of the 1
World War. Rather than suffer the fate of the rest of the
territories of the Ottoman Empire which were divided up across “questionable” ethnic and cultural
lines by the victorious powers of Russia, Britain and France, the revolution by Kemal Ataturk allowed
Turkey to retain its own sovereignty as a Parliamentary democracy with a “secular” Government. In his book, “The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of
World Order” written in 1996, politicalscientist Samuel P. Huntingdon theorizes that “people‟s cultural and religious identities will be the
primary source of conflict in the post-
Cold War World.”
He identifies certain powerful “core” nations surrounded by “satellite” nations which were once
dependent on them, and proposes that they will remain so in spite of national boundary changes. He
thus divides the World into several “civilizations” with common cultures and religious values. The
recent conflict over disputed territories between Russia and Georgia (which gained independence from
the U.S.S.R. in 1991) points to the validity of his argument, and confirms that people‟s cultural
identities remain, in spite of enforced boundary changes. In this scenario we could therefore, seeformerly divided Empires re-
gathering their “satellite” nations in fresh
future alliances.Huntington argues that the resurgence of Islam "embodies the acceptance of modernity, rejection ofWestern culture, and the recommitment to Islam as the guide to life in the modern world"
Although we are seeing a resurgence of radical Islamist groups calling today for the reinstatement ofthe Caliphate and the enforcement of Sharia law, these efforts are being resisted by the leaders (Ulema)of most of the sovereign nations that make up the Islamic community (Ummah). However, even
though this is not happening across “international” borders on a national scale at present, it is
happening within Islamic culture as those of different Islamic sects are forming alliances with larger
“core” States, e.g. “Shiite” Iran‟s support of Hizb‟allah in Lebanon, and the alliance formed by “Sunni”
al Qaeda with the Taliban former Government of Afghanistan, with the ultimate aim of restoring theCaliphate, expelling all forms of Western influence, and re-living the glory days of Islam through Sharialaw.Presently, we are seeing that the foremost aims of these groups, is to renew Islamic society. This isbeing achieved by the enforcement of Islamic law
according to their perceived Islamic principles
concentrating on Islamic norms such as dress codes for women
beards for men
gender separation
bans on music, alcohol and western culture by the “morality police” etc. These bloody reforms are

taking place mainly between Shiite and Sunni sects within the modern nations that make up the shapeof the rising composite Beast Empire.
“Huntington also argues that civilizational conflicts are "particularly prevalent between
Muslims and non-Muslims", identifying the "bloody borders" between Islamic and non-Islamic civilizations. This conflict dates back as far as the initial thrust of Islam into Europe, its eventual expulsion in the Iberian reconquest, the attacks of the Ottoman Turks on EasternEurope and Vienna, and the European imperial division of the Islamic nations in the 1800s
and 1900s.”
“Huntington refers to countries that are seeking to affiliate with another civilization as "torn
countries." Turkey, whose political leadership has systematically tried to Westernize thecountry since the 1920s, is his chief example.Turkey's history, culture, and traditions are derived from Islamic civilization, but Turkey'sWestern-oriented elite imposed western institutions and dress, embraced the Latin alphabet, joined, NATO, and is seeking to join the European Union. According to Huntington, a torncountry must meet three requirements to redefine its civilizational identity. Its political andeconomic elite must support the move. Second, the public must be willing to accept theredefinition. Third, the elites of the civilization that the torn country is trying to join mustaccept the country. As noted in the book, to date no torn country has successfully redefined its civilizationalidentity, this mostly due to the elites of the 'host' civilization refusing to accept the torncountry, though if Turkey gained membership of the European Union it has been noted thatmany of its people would support Westernization. If this was to happen it would be the firstto redefine its civilizational identity.
When he wrote his book in 1996 Huntingdon‟s analysis showed that the Republic of Turkey was thenatural and powerful leader of the former Ottoman territories and was the only “core” Nation
militarily strong enough to lead the Islamic world in the future.
Currently Turkey spans the gap between the Asian “Islamic” East and the European “Western”
continents where Turkey is applying for membership in the European Union. Whether Turkeyachieves its aims of membership by 2014, or is thwarted by the ambivalent attitude of many European
Nations who do not want their Nation‟s borders flooded with 76 million Turks is yet to be decided. However, it is this writer‟s opinion that the “core nation” key to the revival of this Islamic
beast Empireis either Turkey
which seems to be “waiting in the wings” for the head to be healed i.e. become
Islamic orientated again, and join itself to the rest of the body - or Iran which is antagonistic towardsthe West, has recently successfully launched long-range rockets and re-stated its implacable goal of joining the nuclear club. However, bearing in mind the vast pageantry and colourful historical record of various TurkishCaliphates, and considering that the historic places, palaces and artefacts used in conferring such
Caliphates upon the chosen ruler exist in Istanbul, Turkey, it may yet prove to be the “head” that was
healed.Underlying the current evidence of this rising Islamic composite beast is the Rev. 13:2 scripture whichstates that
“the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”
Somewhere down theline, in the future, one of the Islamic nations that make up the shape of the Beast must revive theCaliphate and make space for this final evil Empire to ascend onto the World stage.
However, a

problem exists in considering these two militarily competent States as likely candidates for the locationand restoration of the Caliphate, in that - one is Sunni/Turkish and the other is Shiite/Persian - inIslamic orientation.Turkey is 99% Sunni Muslim, and although presently secularly Governed it has itself, suffered fromIslamic Terrorist attacks which aimed to destabilize it. Recent news reports indicate that Islamization isrife in Government employment, where secular employees are being replaced by Islamic apparatchiks.
Iran, on the other hand is 95% Shi‟a Muslim, and following the debacle of its Presidential elections in
June 2009, has assumed an even more belligerent stance towards the West than hitherto, practically
endorsing its isolation; providing a rallying point against the ”interfering” West (Britain and the “greatSatan” U.S.A.)
Of the nations that make up the composite Beast Empire, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan,Pakistan, Jordan, Egypt and Libya are all of majority Muslim religious faith. Lebanon is the only nationthat was 30% Christian, but after the 34 day summer war, (July/Aug 2006) Lebanese Christians fledfrom the area; just as remnant Christians in Gaza and Iraq have done.As the projected demographics of Muslim population growth show, the rapid increase in Islamist youth
numbers in many of the Nations mentioned above, may cause them to verge on “tipping over” into arevived Islamist type “underground” Empire as Muslim youth; urged by the
leaders in Iran, theinsurgents in Iraq, al Qaeda leadership and Taliban extremists in Pakistan, volunteer for martyrdom tohelp fight the Infidel Crusaders and Zionists.Quoting
from the Website of “theaustralianews.com”–
dated 8/10/2005.
“He (Preside
nt Bush) said extremists were aiming to build sweeping radical empire based on what he
said was „Islamo
fascism‟…..Bush used new and more
-specific language in characterising Islamicmilitants as part of a radical movement much like Soviet-
style communism….
Rather than dismissing
them as terrorist „evil
doers‟ as he once did, he said they have a „clear and coherent ideology‟ andterritorial ambitions.”
The word “Fascism” is described in Webster‟s Dictionary as “a system of Government characterized by
rigid one-party dictatorship, forcible suppression of opposition, private economic enterprise under
centralized governmental control, belligerent nationalism, racism and militarism etc.”This sounds very much like the ideological activities of Revelation‟s t
wo beasts who demand total
control of those under their influence. In Revelation 20:4 the “Christ
believing” dissidents are killed by
beheading. All of these aspects of fascism can easily fit within the dogma of the radical Islamic sectsthat are intent on destabilizing the Governments of many Middle Eastern countries, with the ultimateaim of taking control and, according to the vehement rhetoric of the President of Iran, using their
powers to “wipe Israel” (the only democracy in the Middle East) “off the map”.
Within those countries and World-wide there are 1.3 billion Muslim people, most of whom are
“moderates”, who are unaware of the evil plans that the Beast Leaders described in Revelation 13 have
in store for them. When they arise in their moment of opportunity, they will declare that they havebeen appointed by Allah; and the Nations, kindreds, tongues and people groups within their sphere ofinfluence and domination, will be given no alternative but to submit to Allah and to their leadership, orface death. (Rev. 13:15)We already know that the radical Islamists have no empathy for their own people, as evidenced by the
slaughter being committed against “innocents” by the insurgents in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon,
