In the context of the knowledge economy,European Union set out the Lisbon strategy tomake Europe more dynamic and competitive.In this lifelong learning perspectiveknowledge represents the asset for theprofessional growth of individual and themean to build an active citizenship. Adultlearning is essential to competitiveness andemployability, social inclusion, activecitizenship and personal development acrossEurope.At present, adult participation in lifelonglearning throughout the EU is at 12.5% foradults aged 25-64. The challenge is makingadult learning systems more attractive,increasing participation in lifelong learning bysetting successful approaches based on anandragogical paradigm.
