In the end of study, students will be able to:
a. Understand the purpose of a descriptive text.
b. Identify descriptive texts.
c. Write a descriptive text.

IV. Steps of Learning Activity


a. Opening and Warming Up Activity (10 minutes)
 Teacher greets the students.
 Teacher checks the attendance list.
 Teacher talk to the students about something related to the material in daily life.
b. The Main Activities
 Teacher gives a picture and a descriptive text to the students and asks them to read
the text.
 Teacher points some students and ask them to read the text loudly (2 minutes).
 Teacher discusses new vocabularies with the students.
 Teacher asks the students to answer the questions based on the text.
 Teacher discusses the answer with the students.
 Teacher explains to the students about purpose, generic structure, and language
features of a descriptive text.
 Teacher explains about simple present tense to the students.
 Teacher asks the students to do some exercises about simple present tense.
 Teacher discusses with the students about the exercises.
 Teacher asks the students to make a simple descriptive text.
c. Closing activities (5 minutes)
 Teacher asks the students whether they have any difficulties or not.
