BurrhusFrederic Skinner
(March 20, 1904 August 18, 1990)was an American psychologist, author,inventor,social philosopher, and poet.He was the Edgar Pierce Professor of Psychology atHarvard Universityfrom1958 until his retirement in 1974. Hisfather was a lawyer, and his mother astrong and intelligent housewife.Hisupbringing was old-fashioned andhard-working.

He moved to Minneapolis to teach at the University of Minnesota.There he met and soon married Yvonne
