When it comes to your mortgage,
Paula, the busy head o development or Charleston Special Olympics, grew up with her broth-er, Eddie, in Florida. “I grew up never really thinking he was dierent,” says Paula. “He was sim-ply treated as just another one o the kids.” But it was Eddie’s move to Charleston ater the death otheir mother that caused Paula to seek out Special Olympics. “He wanted riends, a job, andto play basketball, so we got a group together and started the Big Dogs basketball team.” Onceword got around, more amilies got involved and the organization now has groups or gol, tennis, sailing, kayaking, soccer, sotball, and swimming. Paula says Eddie’s joy o lie is inectious, adding thathe has “tons o riends—with and without disabilities. He works at Publix. He’s a successul artist. Theconfdence that the Special Olympics has given him has helped him succeed in all that he tries.” Whenit came time to buy a new home, Paula chose Lucey Mortgage because she knew how involved Lorcanand the rest o the sta are in supporting local organizations—most recently their team or the BocceBash to raise money or the Special Olympics. “I believe Special Olympics brings out the best in everyoneit touches,” says Paula. “How lucky I am to know the extended amily that is part o this organization!”
