1984 年、「平和のオアシス」へ移住。2001 年より三宗教合同施
設を併設するスピリチュアル・センター長として、相互交流や平
和プログラムなどの教育開発に携わる。2008 年、平和のオア
Program シスで初めて同コミュニティーの女性代表に選出され、2010

A leading member of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam for many

平和のオアシス

(waah-at i-sal-aam/ ne-vé shal-om /: Arabic and Hebrew for Oasis of Peace: Wahat al-Salam/ Neve Shalom is a village, jointly
established in 1970 by Jewish and Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel, on land leased (and later given) to it by the adjacent Monastery of
Latroun. In 1977 the first family came to reside here. By 2010, about 60 families (half of these Jewish, and half Palestinian) had settled
in the village. In the coming years, the community will grow to 150 families.
The members of Wahat al-Salam/ Neve Shalom are demonstrating the possibility of coexistence between Jews and Palestinians by
developing a community based on mutual acceptance, respect and cooperation. Wahat al-Salam/ Neve Shalom is engaged in educational
work for peace, equality and understanding between the two peoples. The reality of Wahat al-Salam/ Neve Shalom as a binational
community serves as the base for its educational work.
Democratically governed and owned by its members, the community is not affiliated with any political party or movement. Wahat
al-Salam/ Neve Shalom gives practical expression to its vision through its various branches. (from Oasis of Peace

イスラエルにあるネベシャローム / ワハト・アッサラーム（先がヘブライ語、後がアラビア語で「平和のオアシス」の意味。略して“NS/WAS”）
は、1970 年代、ラトゥルーンの修道院から貸与された土地に、ユダヤ人とパレスチナ・アラブ人（イスラエル国籍）によって創設されました。
1977 年、最初の家族がこの地に住み始めました。2010 年現在、およそ 60 世帯（ユダヤ人とパレスチナ人の世帯は同数）がこの村で暮らし、近々
150 世帯に拡大する予定です。
NS/WAS の村民は、相互の受容・尊重・協力に基づいたコミュニティを発展させることによって、ユダヤ人とパレスチナ人の共生が可能であるこ
とを、自らをもって証明しています｡WAS/NS では、平和教育、二民族間の平等と相互理解に努めています。この二民族共同体 NA-WAS は、その教
育活動を基盤としています。
村民によって民主的に管理・運営され、いかなる政治的組織・活動にも属さず、様々な活動を通して WAS-NS は、そのビジョンを具体的に示して

ドリット・シッピン
Dorit came to live in Wahat al-Salam/Neve Shalom in 1984 at the age of 26, accompanied by her
husband and baby boy.From then on, she has worked in the community, taking leading roles in
various departments.
From 2001, she served as the first director of the Pluralistic Spiritual Center. In 2008, she was
elected to a 2-year term as the first woman chair of the community's municipal society. Throughout
the years, Dorit has represented WAS-NS in a number of overseas delegations and speaking tours.

1984 年、当時 26 歳のドリットさんは、夫、息子と共に NS-WAS に移住。以降、共同体の仕事に従事し、さ

まざまな部署で指導的役割を担ってきた。
2001 年より、スピリチュアル・センターの局長に就任。2008 年には、この共同体で２年間の施政を担う初
の女性代表者に選出された。職務期間を通じ、ドリットさんは数々の海外使節派遣や講演ツアーにおいて、
WAS-NS の代表としての務めを果した。
