Greetings in Sports!
The Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF), through its Regional Directorate for
Caraga Region will be holding the 2nd Mindanao Edition of the PVF National Referee
Congress on September 3-5, 2010 at San Francisco Gymnasium, San Francisco,
Agusan del Sur.
The Congress, which is being held once in every two years in Manila, is extended for
the second time to Mindanao participants specifically for those who missed the first
edition that was held in Davao City. The PVF would like to give chance to our
referees fulfill one of the requirements to become a PVF National Referee or PVF
National Referee Candidate. The Congress likewise aims to unify interpretation of
rules, correct adoption of system, emphasize on exact and proper mechanics,
continue to promote volleyball as a sport, and develop the young, new breed of and
dynamic volleyball referees.
Participants who will pass the refereeing standards will be given accreditation and
corresponding levels on their proficiencies (results on written, oral and practical
examinations) at the end of the congress. The names of those who will pass will be
submitted to the PVF Referee Commission (PVFRECOM) and the FIVB Referee
Candidate computerized list. From then on, these referees will form part of the
Mindanao-based referee corps who will be tapped to officiate in any PVF and PSC
sanctioned tournaments nationwide. The PVF accreditation is also a step towards
becoming an International Referee (IR) and the chance to officiate in international
volleyball competitions.
In this regards, we are inviting your interested and qualified personnel to attend this
event.
At least, four (4) key Manila-based personalities from the PVF main office were
invited to undertake the Congress, as follows:
Each participant should be of legal age and has to meet at least one of the
minimum requirements in order to join the Congress, as follows:
• Holder of PVF National Referee or PVF National Referee Candidate License
• Has attended PAVA or PVF National Volleyball Referee Course
• Has attended similar Volleyball Clinics endorsed by Local Sports Association
and DepEd
• School Coaches, Trainers and PE teachers
A registration fee of Two Thousand Eight Hundred Pesos (Php 2,800.00) per
participant will be charged to cover the cost of the Congress, inclusive of daily
lunch. 2 snacks, water and participant’s kit (Refereeing Guidelines, Case Book,
Official PVF National Referee ID, and other congress paraphernalia).
Participants are required to wear proper PVF uniform for the entire duration of the
Congress (Blue slacks pants, PVF Referee white polo shirt or plain white polo shirt
for non-PVF referees, white belt, White socks, white based rubber shoes, and FOX40
whistle).
