FILM

• Film – photographed moving images – with or without sound


- has the ability to move back and forth through time, to change quickly
from one location to another, and to present visually materials which are
subjective to the characters
- presents characters in action, who express themselves in dialogues
- a medium which could record anything seen and project it onto a large
screen to be viewed in a darkened room by an audience
• Narrative – the most common structure of film
• Director – compose each scene, controls the lighting, dictates the camera
movements, and is deeply involved in every aspect of the art
• Critics – see a functional art as the ordering of more and more chaos in our
conscious experience
• Flashback technique – give impression of different points in time
