The educational component of the HDI consists of adult
literacy rates and the combined gross enrolment ratio for

Country has one of the highest education rates in the
world. Regarding the HDI education index (Figure 4), the
region has outstanding results. With a score of 0.988 it
surpasses France, Sweden and Germany and falls short
of the indicators of only four European countries: Ireland,
Finland, Denmark and Norway.
