Autism Screening Checklist Focus Group

Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, Revised (MCHAT-R)

How can we do better at screening Vietnamese children for autism?

Purpose of the focus group discussion:


To evaluate and adapt a Vietnamese language version of the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers,
Revised (Vietnamese MCHAT-R) for cultural and language appropriateness.

This focus group might be a good fit for you if:


You identify as being part of the Vietnamese community, and are a parent.
You speak, read and/or write Vietnamese.

What do we ask of you?


Participate in a 2 ½ hour discussion session.

When and where?


There will be multiple times and locations. We will ensure the times and locations are convenient to
participants.

Participation is voluntary:
Parents who participate will receive a thank you gift of $50 for their participation. Childcare and
refreshments will be provided.
