The case is covered in a non slip soft plastic and the display is huge with large
digits, good as easy to see, bad as you only get a three and half digit readout.
The pop-out rear stand is of poor flimsy plastic best not used. The multimeter is
wide but does have a waistline for smaller hands to grip it firmly, a plus in my case.
The temp sensor was tested against my Weather Station indoors and outdoors and
found to agree.
The DC voltage ranges up to 20V were checked against a Fluke multimeter and
found to agree.
The Capacitance was checked against sliver mica standard value capacitors and was
within 2% tolerance. Here I found a strange anomaly in that capacitance can only be
read to the nearest 10 pf
although you have a three and half digit display my older version multimeter by Top
Tronic goes down to 1 pf, strange but true.
The unit is equipped with a bright led backlight that works so well you can almost
use it as a torch at night.
The frequency counter was accurate up to 10 Mhz and then up to 20 Mhz within

about 5%. Tested against the Fluke multimeter and HF Transceiver. The resistance
measurements were checked to the Fluke up to 2M and found to agree within the
tolerance range of 0 .8%.
The inductance measurements were spot checked with an LCR Bridge and found to
be better than the claimed tolerance.
So in summary apart from the disappointing capacitance readout in the pf range the
Top Tronic T48 multimeter performed well and is very good value for its price.
