DEFINITION OF IBS
 An integrated bridge system (IBS) is defined as acombination of systems which are interconnected in order to allowcentralized access to sensor information or command/control from workstations, with the aim of increasing safe and efficient shipsmanagementbysuitablyqualifiedpersonnel.The term integrated bridgeencompasses several possiblecombinations of equipment and software designed specifically foreach individual vessels needs. Therefore, each integrated bridgesystem is different. This section introduces, in general terms, themajorequipmentlikelytobefoundinan integratedbridgesystem.
