(On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at approximately 2221 hours, the Brevard County Sheriffs Office Dispatch received a call from the residence located at WaeEmerald Lake Drive Cocoa, Brevard County, Florida 32940 in reference to an accidental shooting call. Upon arrival, Deputy C. Brooks and Deputy K. Brewer made entry into the residence, where they found Mr. Brett Alan Allgood (Victim) lying at the foot of the bed on the master bedroom floor in a pool of blood, with a single gunshot wound to his right armpit / triceps area, Deputy C. Brooks and Deputy K. Brewer were able to administer first aid, by applying pressure to the wound unti the Brevard County Fire Rescue arrived and assumed life saving measures. | was contacted by Lieutenant W. Haggerty in reference to the shooting and he informed me of the incident and Mr. Allgood’s condition. Lieutenant Haggerty advised me Mr. Allgood was being airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida. | was informed that Major Crimes Agent W. Simock and the on-call Crime Scene Technician, F, Jancura would be responding to the scene to assist in the investigation. At approximately 2308 hours, | responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Upon my arrival, | briefly spoke with Deputy Brooks, who advised me in substance: Ms. Lori Michelle Morin (Arrestee), spontaneously uttered to him as he arrived on scene that she and her live in boyfriend were having drinks earlier in the evening, when 2 conversation came up that involved her loaded Mossberg 20 gauge pump action shotgun that was located in the right corner of the master bedroom. Ms. Morin stated as she retrieved the shotgun from the corner of the bedroom, she turned around with the muzzle in the air and intended on handing it to Mr. Allgood, who was standing right behind her. As Ms. Morin attempted to hand the shotgun to Mr. Allgood, the shotgun accidentally went off, striking Mr. Allgood once in the upper right armpit/biceps area. Ms. Morin stated once Mr. Allgood was shot, she put the shotgun back in the corner, immediately retrieved her cellphone and called 911 for help, After calling 911, Ms. Morin attempted to apply bandages (Towel) on the gunshot wound to apply pressure on the wound until medical treatment would be rendered. In the kitchen, | observed a white pair of socks that were soaked in blood. Ms, Morin was asked if she would agree to sign a consent to search form of her residenice, at which time she complied and} signed the consent form. tread the consent form to Ms. Morin, witnessed by Agent Simock. Ms, Morin advised she understood the consent form and she signed the form. (Once the consent form was signed, Crime Scene Technician F. Jancura began processing the scene and Agent Simock and i requested Ms. Morin speak with us in private inside of my unmarked patrol car. Ms. Morin agreed to speak with us and she was seated in the front passenger seat, Agent Simock sat in the rear passenger seat and | sat in the driver’s seat. Mr. Morin was advised she was not going to jail, under arrest and she was free to terminate the conversation and leave my car at any time. Mss. Morin stated she understood she was not under arrest and she was free to leave at any time. Mr. Morin stated the following in substance, during a sworn recorded statement: She and her live in boyfriend, Mr. Allgood met through mutual friends in August of 2018. They began chatting on the social media website Facebook, through there instant messaging system. They actually met face to face about three weeks ago, where they fell head over heels in love for one another. Ms. Morin stated Mr. Allgood does not have a key to her residence, which she is sub-letting form her mother, Ms. Diane Walker (Other). Ms. Marin stated Mr. Allgood does spend the night with her at her residence and they are in an intimate relationship together. Ms. Morin stated she got home from work at approximately 1741 hours and Mr. Allgood was already in the driveway waiting on her to get home. Mr. Aligood bought a 750 ML bottle of Captain Morgan’s Alcohol, @ dozen roses, a chocolate candy bar and a box of snoring strips, because Mr. Allgood snares. Ms. Morin stated they each drank one beer each, then started drinking Captain Morgan and (diet coke for her and regular coke for Mr. Allgood). Throughout the evening, they played several games of the card game “Rummy’” at the kitchen table, Mr. Aligood won most of the hands and they were kidding around with each other about the losses.
