deAR FRiends:
Thank you or helping to create a better uture or Asia. Together, we have taken on illiteracy, extreme poverty, disease prevention, disaster recovery, and many other demanding issues; andour shared commitment led to over $29 million in giving in2009, totaling $128 million since 2001. Give2Asia works with you to establish innovative programsand partnerships that strengthen ties between internationaldonors and diverse needs across Asia. In the US, partnerslike the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, the Fidelity Charitable Git Fund, and many others are helping to expandour network o engaged, passionate donors. In Asia, we areexpanding the work o local organizations by partnering withnonprots like the LIN Center or Community Development, which serves grassroots groups in Vietnam. Our eorts havebeen paying o, and a growing number o communitiesacross Asia are overcoming adversity by building channels o support rom overseas oundations, companies, and amilies. The success o our eorts hinges upon making good choicesabout the projects we und, and Give2Asia works closely withdonors as they plan their philanthropy. This past year donorsmet with issue experts on pressing topics such as water, disasterresponse, and intra-Asia philanthropy. In Beijing, sixty leaderso our community came together to discuss the dramaticgrowth o the charitable sector within China, a discussion which is helping us to better serve the needs o donors in thisnew decade. Following deadly typhoons in the Philippines inOctober, interested donors convened with country and disasterexperts to learn where contributions were needed most. Theseactivities leverage the deep knowledge we share collectively inorder to make our giving more eective and thoughtul. Give2Asia will continue to improve the quality, transparency and impact o its work with partners such as you. Our ultimatestrength as an organization lies in the passion and dedicationo our network, and our shared desire to improve the quality o lie or those in need. On behal o Give2Asia’s sta and trustees, we look orwardto supporting your charitable eorts in 2010 and beyond. Best wishes,Bill S. Kim, Chairman o the Board o Trustees, Give2Asia
