“No one is good -except God alone”(Logic in Mark Gospel)
A friend of mine,(Fahmi) denials

Christ Jesus being God on the bases Mark 10:18. Pointing me tothe Bible, Fahmi said "here is the proof from Jesus' own saying

“Why do you call me good? Noone is good – except God alone.”"

So sure with his verse, I responded to him if he has read theContext.Going through the context of the Gospel according to Mark, we can try to understand what thewriter of this books is trying to communicate to us in Mark 10:18.The best and recommended way to understanding any small conversation in a story is to understandits context. We need to know the whole context of story otherwise we are in danger of being lost orget a different meaning like a friend mine, Fahmi. From the context of the Gospel according to Mark, We can draw two premises and from them buildconclusion of the what

Mark 10:18 is try to inform us.Reading Mark 10:18-29 we get the our
First

 premises
:
No one is good except God alone:
 Mark 7:31-37
gives us the context to why “The Rich Young Man” in Mark 10:18-29 called Jesus“Good teach!”

I will focus on the concluding part of Mark 7 and that is
verse 37. P
eople wereoverwhelmed

with amazement,
“He(Christ Jesus) has done everything well” they said “Heeven makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”
Christ Jesus' character, words, work, and all was concluded by people to be good. Even Jesusopponents, who wanted to kill him did not find one bad thing to accuse him(Mark 14:59 ESV) thanHim claiming to be the Son of Man, the Savor of Daniel 7:13.Peter, one of Jesus' closest disciple concludes like this: Christ Jesus committed no sin, neither wasdeceit found in his mouth. (1 Peter 2:22 ESV)Remember that when they talked about everything good,
They really meant it.
This Christ figure inMark Gospel

had performed supernatural miracles, exorcism, forgave sin, comfort the poor,

healing and so much more that word be impossible to record in a book as John 21:25 tells us.
He stilled the storm Mark 4:35
,
Feeding the 5000 from a two men food(Five bread and two fish ) Mark 6:30-f,

Walk on the water: Mark 6:48. Feed the 4000 Mark 8:1, Raising a dead person to life Mark 5:22,35 and an load of healing!
And He did all these, everything well! Jesus is good, according to the context! Which gives us our second premises.
Logic Behind Mark 7 and 10
1.No one is good except God alone(Mark 10:18)2.Christ Jesus is Good
Conclusion: From 1 and 2

follows that Christ Jesus is God
Thus Mark 10:18; Jesus is not denying

that He is good, but trying to press

the rich young man tothink deep on what he apply by calling Christ Jesus good teacher! In other words, Jesus saying doyou know only God alone is Good, are you calling me God?
