Dr. McArthur:

After reviewing the Queens University of Charlotte's (QUOC) website I found that the website overall
aesthetics are very pleasing. I also compare the QUOC website to the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT) website on the bases of content and design. The following are my findings, blue are
content based finding and purple are design based findings:

 The overall goal of the QUOC website is to inform publics about the University and the events
that are happening on campus. This is done efficiently and pleasing to the eye. MIT's website
is also to inform publics about MIT by giving headlining news and spotlights around campus.
Their website is all about efficiency with no added bonuses.
 The public for both websites are: students, staff/faculty, potential students, parents,
community around the school, and other schools in the area around the school.
 MIT's content included links to: about us, admissions, school's of education, research,
community, community life, initiatives, impact, events. The content of the website is efficient
and the website is focused on the technological advances. QUOC's content is similar the only
difference is the QUOC websites has the choice to choose what events interest the visitor. The
content is spot on and intended for its publics.
 Both websites are updated daily with daily spotlights and events happening daily.
 The MIT website has little appeal and is focused on getting the user to the correct location,
however, this is the bases of MIT to get in and get to work so the design of the website reflects
the work ethic of the school. Pictures from events would make the website more appealing.
QUOC is a very appealing website but the pictures that are constantly scrolling can be a little
distracting from the information below the pictures.
 The MIT website is interactive by the links taking you to the correct spot but the main picture is
not interactive, and lacks excitement. The QUOC website is very interactive with the ability to
choose what pictures the user wishes to look at and the same activity with the spotlight. The
ability to have those features adds to the overall interactions of the website.
 A user for the MIT website would look for the area of necessity and click to be taken to that
specific area. A user for the QUOC website would see pictures of events and are able to go to
that story, the user can also click on areas of necessity and click to be taken to that area, or the
user could scroll down and read about upcoming events or spotlight events.
 The design of both Universities' sights are designed toward the intended public, MIT all about
get in get out, QUOC is about looks and what is unique about the University. Both websites
match the company, company's mission, and company's structure.

The websites are both very similar because they are both Universities, but the main difference is the
design. MIT could use some more pictures and a little more flash because the website is boring to look
at.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Chelsea Lancashire
