After discriminating against gay student teacher Seth Stambaugh by disappearing him from the Beaverton School District and Sexton Mountain Elementary in response to Mr. Stambaugh's honest answer to a student's question about his marital status, the Beaverton School Board adopted a new policy, promising District reform, and looked forward to "a time when all teachers can be out of the closet"

Lawyer Lake Perriguey marshaled the case to ensure Seth Stambaugh's reinstatement into the classroom and to hold the Beaverton School District accountable for its discriminatory action.
