I don't mean to be an asshole, but...
Senator Clinton has given Howard Wolfson both the responsibility and the
authority to make final decisions about how this campaign delivers its
messages. In my observations of Howard, she made an extremely wise
choice. And there is a basic fact of campaign management that, at the
end of the day, someone has to be the decision maker -- input is
important and valued, but decision making can't be a free for all if
this campaign is to function efficiently and coherently.
‘Changes to important statements and other critical campaign
communications simply have to go through Howard. If, ina pinch, you
can't get to him, let me know and I will do what I'can. My
responsibility is make sure we are pursuing the right objectives at the
right time, and I am more than happy to your input on that. But Howard
is the person who is ultimately responsible for making sure that we
deliver our messages the right way, and I hope everyone will support and
respect him in that role. No end runs, and certainly no debating the
point beyond when Howard determines it is no longer practical to do so.
