Reproductive Health Outcomes Among Women VietnamVeterans.”The study has been proposed as a partial response to the mandateof Public Law 99-272; that law also requires approval from the Director of OTAbefore any such studies are undertaken,which is the reason for this review.Dr. Kang, the principal investigator from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs(VA), joined the meeting for the morning.This study is one of three that make up the full VA response to themandate to look into the health of women Vietnam veterans.The first was astudy of the patterns of mortality among women Vietnam veterans after leaving
the service,
which has been published in the November 1991 issue of the
American Journal of Epidemiology.
The
second piece is an in-depth analysis of
psychological health data collected
in
the National Vietnam Veterans
Readjustment Study (NVVRS).The NVVRS was carried out under contract to VA byResearch Triangle Institute;VA itself plans to carry out the additionalanalysis of data from interviews of women Vietnam veterans.OVERVIEW OF STUDYThis protocol describesa study of the reproductive history of women whoserved in the military in Vietnam.The study would compareveterans with other women who served in the military duringbut remained largely within the continental United States.women Vietnamthe Vietnam era,
