I regret that our respective travel schedules will prevent us from meeting during your visit to the United States this month, but I want to take the opportunity to reassure you of my highest respect and support for you, your mission and your people at this critical time. I hope that this letter and your meeting with Senator McCain will make clear that American attention to and backing for the people of Tibet widespread and transcends the division of our political contest in this important election year...

I deeply appreciate President Barack Obama and all US citizens for supporting us and considering tibetan struggle as Truth.We tibetans will always remember your sacrifice made for us...
But the most unbelievable thing is people like XIESHOU.I just dont understand how people like you can support chinese govt even after the deadly incident in 1989 Tiananmensquare where we clearly know how chinese young students were killed like a plastic toys with tanks sent by chinese govt, let just leave tibetan matter aside.I can never understand these people and sometimes i even have this thought that do chinese people really have human brain to think rationally.you guys should really start thinking and better stop accusing Dalai Lama since you are not in a level to speak against him.Living just a **** life like this..huh Chinese guys..open your eyes, investigate and learn how to put forward your suggestions..

I am proud to say that being a chinese student I support the tibetans. To xieshou79, without knowing much about Tibet's history, their people and about your own government you shouldn't criticize His Holiness, you're a "big lie". Even i didn't know much about Tibet but i later found out that Tibet is a country and His Holiness is not a liar. Tibet is a great place , you should read about their history. And i'm 100% sure that whatever you learnt in school about tibet, was not the reality. Nevermind, Thank you Mr. Obama and i am very glad you won the president ! congratulations. Thanks for supporting us, i support Tibet too :)

i am humbled by the respect obama expressed for his holiness. this may come as a suprise for many as i am a chinese citezen.i do not need to validate my opinion , because i am aware some may not support my thoughts.
we cannot judge anyone by their religion or nation but by depth of character.obama and his holiness are worhty of our respect, trust and support.i hope the sucession of obama as a president enlightens the ones blinded by their fear and doubt and arrogance

I extent my heartful of thanks to the president elect Mr Barrack Obama for his honour letter written to his holiness. Every world has lots of hope from your competent authority that you will make a great change not only in your great country but to the entire world in this planet who are operessed and repressed. I remember your speech
at Chicago when thousands of your supporters have gathered to honour your victory there. Their you said "We defeat when any one sees us as an enemy and We support and help those who needs freedom and peace". We Tibetans really needs a support of your country to pressurise China to come at a reliable solution to the issue of tibet which his holiness and 6 million tibetans and its supporters worldwide struggle and hopes. Any concrete help from your administration to the solution of Tibet would be a historic landmark and remembered throughout the end of this entire world. I hope you will face boldly with the chinese officials and face diplomatically to come at the solution of Tibet. I thank you n all the american dignataries and its people for loving and respecting our spiritual leader The Dalai lama. Thank you Mr Obama and God Bless United States

this is in response to xieshou79 comments, you know i get a kick out of hearin ignorant mislead people like you whos definition of the truth is based in lies, I suppose you were educated in china, i just hope to god ur not in any democratic country cuz then you deserve to be back in china. maybe america isnt the the cleanest but thank god china does not have the same monopoly over most countries as america did the last fifty years. cmon its so simple as you would say in your broken english

Mr.Obama...I am very pleased to see this honour letter. Behalf of our Tibetans and supporters really likes to Appreciate to U. At the same time, i wish and Pray that you'll take action on it. We all're very much thankful for you.
"LONG LIVE THE DALAI LAMA".....
And oh..U XIESHOU.. who ever u are... Without knowing proper history of ours. don't speak-out rubish. I guess! ur parents taught u reciprocal. thats wht u mention here in this page. This is my lesson to u. "Without knowing anything don't be like a donkey"..... keep saying bla bla bla....... learnt it, than investigate.....! hope u got it. In tibet there has to a peace conversation.The human right dosen't exist . There have to had the same right i have to choses they way of live and their ways of thinking.Hope that you Sr. fine a way to restore what is leave of these people. With God name in it

Tibet has to be free. I wish president Obama will never forgets his words and I wish he was not just polite with Dali Lama. I wish for all of us and Tibetans to see their country free. I do mean really the country, because in reality Tibetans are free in their harts in a why we can only dream to be. I have seen them and I love them, I wish I can also do something for them.

I really want to thank the president Mr.Obama for his support to his Holliness The Dalai lama from the core of my heart.Its great to know that most of the American have supported Tibet issue n now since Mr Obama is now the present President i think we will surelly get our Freedom very soon .And I also want to thank all the supporters of Hiss Holliness The Dalai Lama from the bottom of my heart which includes all the fomer presidents of America which they have supported Tibet from the very beginning.
And i would also like to say tht those who dosent support His Holliness also i dont mind as its owns own beleif . But the ones who curse His Holliness will never be happy in their entire life cause he is a god for us n any bad comments about him i will not tolerate.

it is a very stupid fashion in nowadays europe and america to worship and support Dalai Lama. He is such a liar. It is unbelievable that you call him "your holiness". If you believe a religion could rule the USA and make people in USA live better and feel more freedom, you may support Dalai Lama to rule Tibet as well.
Obama, how could you win the president? If you are still so stupid.
