[ilavit of Detective Nich = alice Department
I, Nicholas Gagnon, being duly swom under oath, state as follows:
1. On 5/21/2019 at 8:36 AM, Auburn Police were sent to 185 Main Steet to look
for Nicholas Fecteau [DOB: 5/14/1985] regarding a gas theft thatthe
‘Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office was handling.
2. Asofficers were responding, dispatch advised there was a caller calling into
report there were two offices outside her building and “a man came beck with
‘lot of guns and sad ife got found he would do a shot out" The caller stated
‘the male was inthe basement of the building. Iam familiar with Nichola from
prior dealings recently involving illegal drugs. [know he isa felon and recently
released fom prison.Officers located Nicholas and were speaking to him in the driveway when I
surived. Nicholas was stating he has no guns and he has no access to the
basement and only the landlond does. There were other officers speaking to
‘Nicholas’ wife in the second-floor apartment. It was desided we would attempt
toclear the basement and the building for public safety reasons being tht there
‘were firearms involved in the complaint.
Officers went tothe basement where Officer Pealatere kicked a bag. As he did,
male yelled out that he had a gun and a hostage. Officer Pealatere backed out
‘of the basement and a perimeter was set up on the building. Officers remained
atthe basement door to contain the male downstairs. Officer Peaatere advised
us that when he kicked the dule bag, i felt consistent with firearms based on
the weight, feel and sound,
was advised the male inthe basement was Steven Case. This was learned
through Nicholas. I'm familiar with Steven ftom prior dealing and I knew he
‘was a felon, spent time in federal prison fora firearms charge and was more
‘recently released from State prison here in Maine fora firearms charge. Tknow
he was a heavy drug user as wel.
[Nicholas stated he has known Steven for three weeks, Steven arrived at his
apartment today with ‘probably 50 guns" and had Nicholas put them in the
‘basement. Nicholas claims to have no idea where the guns came from but
