KEEP THAT BIRDSTOCK
Each
ofus
who owns
an
Antique
or Classic
aircraft
is
privileged
tobe
the
curator
of
our
own
personal
museum
piece. It's a
responsibility
whether
we
realize
it
or not.
The
more
rare
thebirdthe
larger
the
responsibility
and the greater
the
effort should
be
to
keep
it
original.
Pride
of ownership,
pride
in
having
something
no
one else
has,
and greater
recognitionis possible,by
just
keeping
it
factory new
and
cleaner
than
the
one
next
to it.
Butch
ing
up
an
airframe
to
mak
e
it
aerobatic
or speedy,
hanging
a
bigger
engine,
or
in
some
way
taking
it
out
of
the
originalconfiguration
makes
it
less desirable,
and
also im-
portant,
less
sa
leabl
e.
Somemods
are
n
ecessary
to
keep
the
birds
flying.
Brakes
and
a
tailwheel
are
an
abso-
lute
necessity
in
todays world of
aviation.
Sois aradio.
Andwith enginereliability always
a problem, a more
modern engine
is
sometimes
the
only
answer.
But
to customize to
gain
attention
will
never
do
thetrick
.
If
its
an
aerobaticbird
you
want,
go
get
a special.
If its
speedyou're
after,
then
stepup
to one
built
forit.
But
keep
those
Antique
and
Classic
machines
stock
...
ask
our
judging
committee.
