Description

FBI attempts to cover up their use of a coerced false confession by retroactively classifying parts of a court opinion AFTER it was already posted online. This is the original version of that opinion.

Short version of the whole story:

Court of Appeals issues decision stating that an Egyptian man - Higazy - staying in a hotel in New York on 9/11/2001 was forced to confess, falsely, to involvement with the 9/11 plot. The confession was coerced by the FBI; they threatened to have his family tortured in Egypt.

The court opinion was placed online on October 18, 2007 for less than two hours, then withdrawn - mysteriously. It was then reissued and reposted in a redacted form that obscures the FBI's use of threats and coercive interrogation.

This is the unredacted opinion.
