Inthiswork,IhaveexplainedthevariousmisapprehensionsconcerningtheQuranwhichareprevailingamongthosewhoidentifythemselvesasMuslimsandconsequently,theirrectificationbyQur’anicevidence.Thefundamentalreasonfortheoriginationofthesemisconceptionsisthatinthepresentage,theMuslimshavethemselvesgivenupthedivinelyimposeddutyofintellectualanalysisoftheBookofAllahandinsteadhavebecomeblindfollowersoftheteachingsofthesectinwhichtheyarebornintoandconsiderwhatevertheClergyfeedsthem,tobetheabsolutetruth,withoutverifyingwhetherornotthefaiththeyhaveinheritedorhavebeentutoredtoaccepthasbeensanctionedbytheBookofAllah.Suchmisconceptions,whichareacceptedbythemajority,andpatronizedbyvestedinterests,notonlytransformedthevigorousactivitygeneratedbytheQuranicteachingsintopassivity,itratherchangedtheentireoutlookofthelifeofMuslims.ThepassiveIslampredominantintheMuslimworldtodayispolesapartfromthedynamicIslampresentedbytheQuran.BeliefinoneGodhasbeenreplacedbybeliefinanumberofgods.TheconceptofsovereigntyofAllahinhumanaffairshasbeenchangedtotheconceptofsovereigntyofthepeopleorthesovereigntyofindividualhumanbeings.AsaresulttheCentralizationofthe   
Ummah
hasbeenlost,andtheMuslimworldisdividedintonumeroussectsandparties.InsteadofsubserviencetoAllah,theMuslimstodayaresubservienttoman-madeconjecture,Clergymen,andallsortsofEconomicandPoliticalexploiters.ThemissionofthemessengerofAllahwastoreleasehumanityfromtheheavyburdensandthefettersthatwereuponthem(7:157),andhedemonstratedthisbyimplementingthedivinevaluesdecreedintheBookofAllah.ButtheenemiesofIslamhatchedupconceptsanddoctrinesandinjectedthemamongtheMuslimswhichresultedincompletelydefacingthe   
‘Deen’ 
broughtbythemessengerandinsteadreplaceditwithman-madeReligion,andwhereevertheMuslimsenjoyedpower,itgotseparatedinto   
‘Church and State’ 
.Asaresultofthesemisconceptions,whicharebasicallyinjectedbytheenemiesofIslaminthenameofIslamitself,theMuslimsoftodayaregroaningunderthepressureofthesameweightsandareboundbythesameshacklesfromwhichthemessenger(p)cametoreleasethem.The   
 ‘Pharaohs’ 
orthePoliticalexploiters,the   
‘Hamans’ 
ortheReligiousandintellectualexploitersandthe   
‘Qaroons’ 
theEconomicexploitersareagainrampantasmuchintheMuslimcountriesasinanyotherpartoftheworld.InsteadofonecentralorganizationandonecodeoflifegivenbytheQuran,therearehundredandonewaysoflifewhichhavemadetheMuslim     
Ummah
,nowdividedintonationsonterritorialbasis,fallsteepintoastateoffearanddependency.Theystruggletogetoutofit,butwithouttheguidinglightoftheQur’an,failtodoso.Thepeoplewhoweretobewitnessesoverthedeedsofmankind,weretobetheguarantorsofworldpeaceandweresupposedtobethetorchbearersofcivilization,scienceandtechnologicalprogressarethemselvesinapositionofignominyandhelplessness.Theonlyhopeoftheirescapefromtheirpresentdayplightliesinthereunionintoastableandwellknit  
Ummah
andthisobjectivecannotbeachievedunlessthereisaconvictionthattheQur’anhasthefinalauthorityforallmattersofIslamandisthecomplete,immutableandonlymessageofAllahthatexistsonthefaceoftheearth.ThedaytheMuslimworldrealizestheAuthorityoftheBookofAllah,andbecomeconsciouslyawareofitsteachings,thenthatdaywouldbethebeginningofIslamicRenaissance..

ThisworkisaimedattherealizationofthatAuthority.KashifAhmedShehzadaKarachi,July1998   
 MISCONCEPTION #1Whatever Nabi (S.A.W) uttered is "wahi" (Revelation). Surah 53:3-4 says that he does not speak of his own desire but it is a revelation sent to him. Therefore whatever speech Nabi (S.A.W)uttered in life and acted upon was revelation from God.CLARIFICATION 
TheQuranhasdifferentiatedbetweentheordinaryhumanspeechof  
Nabi 
(S.A.W)andthe"wahi"orrevelationsenttohim,andhasclarifiedthatitisonlytheQuranthatisrevealedonhim,andallthatheutteredinlifewasnotrevelationbutonlytheQur’anwastheinspiredrevelationfromGod.ThefollowingisevidencefromtheQurantothiseffect.a)InSurahTauba,

(S.A.W)isadmonishedabouttheMunafiqeen(Hypocrites)whowerereluctanttostruggleinthecauseofGodwiththeirlivesandpossessions:  
 <Afalla_hu 'ank (a), lima azinta lahum hatta_ yatabayyana lakal lazina sadaqu_ wa ta'lamal ka_zibin(a).>"Allah pardon you! Why did you give them leave until those who spoke the truth had becomemanifest to you and you had known the liars?" (9:43)
Intheaboveayah

(S.A.W)isadmonishedastowhyhehadgivenpermissiontotheHypocritesuntilthetruthfulpeopleweremadedistinctfromtheliars.Hadeverythingspokenby

(S.A.W)beenarevelationfromGod,thentheaboveQuranicrevelationwouldnothaveopposedthespeechof  
Nabi 
(S.A.W)inwhichhehadgiventhepermissiontotheHypocritesfornon-participationinJihad.Thusthisconfirmsthatwhatever   
Nabi 
(S.A.W)utteredisnotrevelationbuthishumanspeechisseparatefromDivinerevelations.b)InSurahAl-Araafitismentionedthatwhen   
Nabi 
(S.A.W)didnotbringthemarevelation,theunbelieversobjectedandthisobjectionoftheirsisidentified:  
 <Wa iza_ lam ta'tihim bi a_yatin qa_lu_ lau lajtabaitaha>"And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it?" (7:203)
Nowhadeverythingutteredby

(S.A.W)beenarevelationfromGod,thenintheaboveverseitwouldbemeaninglesstoidentifythisobjectionofunbelieversastowhythemessengerhasnotselectedtherevelationbyhimself,asundertheassumption,whateverhespeaksisconsideredasrevelationofGod.AllahhasidentifiedintheaboveversethatitistheQur’anicAyatthataretherevelationsthat

(S.A.W)usedtobringtohispeople,andnoteverythingheutteredasahumanbeing.Thisisfurtherclarifiedbytherestoftheverse:  
 <qul innama_ attabi'u ma_ yu_ha_ ilayya mir rabbi, ha_za_ basa_'iru mir rabbikum wa hudaw wa rahmatul liqaumiy yu'minu_n(a).Wa iza_ quri'al qur'a_nu fastami'u_ lahu_ wa ansitu_ la'allakum turhamu_n(a).>

"Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Sustainer. This (Qur'an) is insight fromyour Sustainer, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe. And when the Qur'an isrecited, give ear to it and pay heed, that ye may obtain mercy." (7:203-204)
Itisclearlyevidentfromtheaboveversesthatwhatever

(S.A.W)spokewasnotrevelation,asotherwiseAllahwouldnothaveidentifiedthisaspectwhenHesays:  
<Wa iza_ lam ta'tihim bi a_yatin> "And when thou bringest not a verse for them"

(S.AW)wererevelationAllahwouldneverhavesaidtheaboveaseverythingutteredby   
Nabi 
(S.A.W)wouldhavethenalreadyberevelationsfromGod.Itshouldbenotedthatwhileinverse203,itisconfirmedthatwhatever

(S.A.W)spokewasnotrevelation,inverse204,itisbeingurgedthatwhentheQur’anisbeingrecitedthenitshouldbelistenedtoattentively,thusindicatingthatitistheQur’anwhichistheonlyrevelationofGod.c)InSurahAt-Tahrim,itismentionedthat

(S.A.W)madesomethingprohibitedonhimself,whichAllahhadmadepermissible.  
 "O Nabi! why do you forbid (yourself) that which Allah has made lawful for you; you seek to please your wives; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful." (66:1)
Intheaboveverseitisagainconfirmedthatwhatever

(S.A.W)didoracteduponwasnotentirelyrevelation,buthealsoacteduponhisowninitiative,otherwisetheadmonitionfromAllahwouldnothavecomeinwhichitissaid:  
<lima tuhar rimu ma_ ahal lal la_hu laka> "why do you forbid (yourself) that which Allah has made lawful for you" 
Itisevidentfromthisversethat

(S.A.W)alsomadedecisionsonhisownandactedonhisowninitiativeattimesinsteadoftherevelationofGod,andthusprovesthatallthedecisionsandactionsof  
Nabi 
(S.A.W)werenot"wahi"orrevelationofAllah.d)InSurahAl-BaqaratheunbelieversarepointedouttothetotalrevelationsenttoMuhammad(S.A.W)andtheyarechallengedtobringaSurahsimilartoallthathasbeensentdowntohim:  
 <Wa in kuntum fi raibim mimma_ nazzalna_ 'ala_ 'abdina_ fa'tu_ bisu_ratim mim mislih(i),wad'shuhada_'akum min du_nilla_hi in kuntum sa_diqin(a)>"And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), thenbring a Surah similar to it, and call your witnesses beside Allah if ye are truthful." (2:23)
Intheaboveversethechallengeisfor   
<mimma_ nazzalna_ 'ala_ 'abdina> "that which Wereveal unto Our slave" 
,andagainstit,a"Surah"iscalledtoduplicate.AllthoseofsanemindknowthatitisonlytheQuranwhichiscomposedofSurahs,andthebookswhichvarioussectstermasrevelationofGodbesidesQuran,arenotcomposedofSurahs.HadAllahsentsomerevelationapartfromQuran,thensuchrevelationwouldalsohavebeenincludedinthechallengetoproducesomethinglikeit,butthewords   
<fa'tu_ bisu_ratim mim mislih> "thenbring a Surah similar to it" 
clearlyestablishthatAllahhasrevealedonlytheSurahsofAl-QuranwhichweresentdowntoMuhammad(S.A.W)andwhicharecalledtoduplicateagainst  
 <mimma_ nazzalna_ 'ala_ 'abdina> "that which We reveal unto Our slave".
e)InSurahAl-Maidah,thebelieversaretoldthattheyshouldnotraisequestionsaboutthingswhichmaycausethemconfusion,butiftheyquestionaboutthemduringtherevelationoftheQur’an,thentheQuranwillgivetheiranswers:  
 "O you who believe! do not put questions about things which if declared to you may troubleyou, and if you question about them when the Quran is being revealed, they shall be declared to you; Allah pardons this, and Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing." (5:101)
Nowifeverythingutteredby   
Nabi 
(S.A.W)wererevelationthenthebelieverswouldnothavebeenrestrictedtoseektheanswerstotheirquestionsfromtheQur’an.ByrestrictingthebelieverstotheQur’analoneforgettinganswerstotheirqueries,itisconfirmedthatapartfromQuranwhatever   
Nabi 
(S.A.W)spokewasnotdivineinspirationbuthisordinaryhuman
