Health Teaching Plan

Name: Andre Anthony A. Osayan Date of Implementation: September

I. Learner’s Characteristics
The learner’s are sixth-grade hearing-impaired students of Zapatera
SPED center. There are six students, three male and three female, ranging
from the ages of 12 to 39 years. The students are noticeably attentive and
participative during discussions for only a short period of time, most especially
for the 16 and 18 year old males. It is not easy to hold the students’ attentions
for long, since despite being hearing-impaired, the students love to
communicate, often too much with each other, that lessons are often not
given particular notice unless persistent calls to attention are made. Although
the students may be mature enough to participate in lectures, it is however
more encouraged to use activities that are fun and which involve them using
their other senses. Pictures and models are guaranteed to work better than
word-filled visual aids with these students.

II. A. Objectives for SN:

General Objectives:
After 70 minutes of teacher-learner contact, the teacher would be able
to teach the students on basic first-aid that should be given to burn-patients.
Specific Objectives:
a. Within the first 5 minutes, the teacher would be able to introduce
himself to the students and establish great rapport with them.

introduce the topic (first-aid for burns) to the students in a fun manner

to fully grasp and apply the tips provided by the teacher pertaining to basic
first-aid for burn patients.
Specific Objectives:
a. Within the first 5 minutes, the learners would know be able to identify
the teacher, and would be familiar with him.
b. Within the next 5 minutes, the learners would be able to know what
the topic for discussion is about and they will be able to show interest to the
topic.
c. Within 45 minutes, the learners will be able to participate with the
discussion and games, and in the process, will be able to understand the
lessons being discussed.

IV. Learning Activity:

a. Motivation/Energizer
As an introduction, a game of treasure hunting will be used to
help spark curiosity on what the lesson would be about.

6 clues would be spread around the room beforehand, and then

the students are then made to search for them, and with the clues
they will then know of what the game is about.

b. Learning Materials
Pictures will be heavily used to assist with the discussion.
Materials such as gauze and blankets will be used to make
discussion more concrete.
c. Discussion/Demonstration
The discussion starts with a game, in which at the end of it, the
students will then know what the topic of the day is about. After
which, an introduction to burns will then be discussed. The teacher
then divides the class into pairs. Each pair will be provided with a
blanket, gauze and other necessary materials. After every step
discussed, a short demonstration would then be done with all pairs.
This goes on, until all steps are discussed.
d. Application
After the entire discussion, the pairs are then asked to
demonstrate what they have learned in a role play. After which
assessment will be done by the teacher.

V. Evaluation for learners (checklist)
