The domain of ICT enabled crisis management has assumed prime importance in recent timesdue to its value in prevention and mitigation of crisis situations.
o reap the benefits of crisismanagement and create conditions for its improvement it is important to develop appropriatemonitoring and evaluation frameworks. However, the challenge of developing an effectiveevaluation framework is immense. Using concepts from IS and crisis management literature,the paper takes up this challenge to present in conceptual and methodological terms anevaluation framework for an ICT enabled crisis management platform with a focus on the caseof Ushahidi Haiti implementation. The research attempts to integrate, build upon and enhancethe frontiers of IS literature to propose a generic framework applicable across other IT basedcrisis management initiatives. Based on the findings the paper indicates that the nature of acrisis management intervention necessitates the development of an evaluation model specificto the context within which it functions.
