SEARCHING FOR THE RIGHT JOB
According to surveys on SimplyHired.co.uk, job seek-ers preer ulfilling work that accommodates theirliestyle. In addition, job seekers are stating new workrequirements: job seekers want more amily-riendlybenefits, “green” initiatives and a shorter commute.But the “perect” job comes with personal ulfillment:most job seekers state work/lie balance is the mostimportant consideration in a new job.
BECOMING A DESIRABLE CANDIDATE
The results rom our 2009-2010 surveys indicate that job seekers today are working to recession-proo theircareers by taking steps to become more desirablecandidates or employers. Job seekers customisetheir CVs to each potential job, take classes toimprove their skills and seek seasonal jobs to gainwork experience.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND JOB SEARCH
Today’s job seekers are active and tech-savvy withover hal saying they use social media or proes-sional networking, LinkedIn being the most popular(38%). Among those who use social media in their job search, 14% o job seekers devote all o their timesearching on social media sites, however, a stunningone out o five people polled were unamiliar withsocial media sites.
