One of the most dangerous intersec-tions in the county is at
Town LineRoad and Good Hope Road
. Countyand Village officials had a meeting onWednesday, April 21 to discuss the op-tions for improving the safety of theintersection. Most of the accidentsoccur as traffic stopped on Good HopeRoad attempts to enter or cross theintersection. Poor visibility of the trafficapproaching on Town Line Road con-tributes to the hazard. When accidentsdo happen, one or more of the vehiclesusually end up in a ditch or culvert onthe side of the road, making extractionof the vehicle occupants very difficult. One tree shows the deep scars of oneencounter. All drivers using this inter-section should take extreme care anduse caution in this area. If you are rid-ing a bicycle or walking on the east sideof Town Line Road and on the hill to-ward Good Hope Road, it is particularlydangerous. Vehicles passing a bicyclistor pedestrian tend to swing out acrossthe centerline to pass and this putsthem directly in the path of oncoming

Second, you’ll need weapons. For
most homeowners, the favoriteweapon of choice is a rake. Broomsand shovels come in handy too. Apointed stick might work on some of the smaller combatants, but watchout, they could turn it against you anduse it on your feet. After you win theA lot of time and effort goesinto maintaining one of Lan-
