I want to welcome everyone
to the
 July Storage Auction Profits.ComNewsletter
Update on Live Auctions!
I covered in last month’s newsletter my shift in gears and going to a number of
 Live Antique Auctions,
and I purchased $233.00 worth of items to sell oneBay,
well when all was said and done on eBay my total sales were
352% Profit.
That’s not bad for a few nights out at yourlocal auction house, and a couple of hours writing eBay listings and a littlepacking & shipping.In today’s economy we all need to be looking at
Multiple Streams of Income
,and I for one will continue to be looking at different ways to increase my income.I hope you pick up some ideas from my experiences, so you can improve yourfinancial situation from where it is today. Obviously I can’t guarantee you willmake the same profits I have, but I assure you; you can make a profit with thetechniques and tips I am providing, but remember you have to work at it andsometimes it’s not easy, but it can be fun.
Something New!!
One of the things I have tried this past month is taking most of my unsoldinventory from past storage auctions and what didn’t sell in may last garage sale,and made up box lots to be sold at a live auction. I spent a weekend movingstuff from my storage unit to my garage where I sorted out everything and madeup a bunch of box lots which basically are an assortment of items that will besold as one box lot for what auctioneers call
 “One Money”
to the highestbidder. Now my local auction house has a sliding scale of commissions hecharges for consigned lots, they start at:
$ 0.00 to $20.00 40% or minimum of $2.50 per lot$21.00 to $50.00 35%$51.00 to $100.00 30%

What I found out in talking to them about bringing over lots on a regular basiswas that if I put t the boxes together the way I wanted them sold, and broughtthem to the auction house thereby eliminating any work on their part inpreparation for the auction I could get a reduced rate.Well I brought over 52 box lots of items, I unloaded them onto a push cart, andset them up on a table they provided for me, and when we finalized the contracthe discounted 5% across the board from their standard fees. I have to tell you Iwas OK at that rate, but I feel I can get that down lower as I consign more itemswith them. Now over the last couple of years in my search for items for eBay, Ihave bought quite a bit from this auction house, and that may have also helpedin getting a discount on their commission rate.Here are a few photos of my Box Lots:So remember try to discuss commission options with the auction house and alsogo to a number auctions, but some stuff that you can sell on eBay or yourgarage sales, flea markets, etc., and let them get to know you, it can save yousome money.
I also told them about my newsletter and asked permission to take some photosat the auction. They asked me to send them my newsletter, I also get theirs, andI asked if I could interview them at some point for future use in my newsletter orpossibly a new E-Book and they agreed. We also will be working out someadvertising and link sharing between us, which will add to both our mailing lists,it’s a Win-Win situation.Here is a summary of what transpired at the now 3 auctions I have been to whilemy box lots are being sold off.
